Taxes
The visitor’s tax is a local authority tax payable directly by guests to their accommodation provider per night and per person. Children under the age of 6 are exempt from the visitor’s tax.
In addition to the visitor’s tax, the Canton of Bern levies a cantonal levy of CHF 1.00 per overnight stay for adults to promote tourism, which is payable by the accommodation provider.
